Call for Candidates
Elections are scheduled to be held later this year. The positions to be filled include
president, secretary, and three members of the Board of Directors.
Candidates do not need to have a degree in science, just a willingness to serve.
They should be able to attend all or most of the meetings, which generally are held
on Saturdays, four or five times a year.
Our website, www. lutheranscience.org, lists the duties for each of the offices. If
you are thinking of maybe running for one of the positions you can check the duties
and requirements for each position. Don’t be shy about volunteering!
Again Paying for Manuscripts
A generous supporter has come through and offered to reimburse LSI when
we pay authors for manuscripts which we accept for publication. Our policy is
to pay 3 cents per word. These manuscripts may continue to be sent to
Lutheran Science Institute, 4130 Harvest Lane, Racine, Wisconsin 53402 or e-
mailed to admin@lutheranscience.org. LSI thanks our generous supporter.

Next Meeting
Saturday, October 23 is the date for the next meeting of the LSI Board of Directors. Mark Bergemann will be hosting this
meeting at his home--13390 W Edgewood Ave, New Berlin WI 53151. The editorial committee plans to meet at noon with
the full Board meeting at 1 p.m.
New Money-Saving Memberships Announced
The Board of Directors has announced the following new memberships to begin immediately: 1. Electronic
membership. Individuals who are willing to receive their Journals and Bulletins via e-mail in .pdf format can save 50%
on new memberships and renewals. For instance, one-year rates would be $9 for voting members and $12.50 for
associate members, foreign memberships, and groups. Electronic memberships mean you would not receive printed
copies. 2. Free Church Membership. Any church conducting a door offering for LSI may have a one-year free
membership. This would include printed copies. 3. Free Electronic Memberships for Groups. Any church or other
organization which posts a prominently displayed link to the LSI website on their website may receive a free
